Hard BoiledOne can often get carried away in a good book . . . and maybe even a not-so-good one. In her award-winning signature number, Sailor falls head over heels for vintage detective novels and imagines herself as the femme fatale. This number was featured in The Lady Aye's October 2013 article "Show Us Your Books!" in Penthouse magazine, and received the Legend's Choice award from burlesque legend April March at the 2014 Great Burlesque Exposition. One of Sailor's oldest acts, it has also been performed at the Ohio Burlesque Festival and the Booklover's Burlesque Festival. |
SerenitySerenity is a classic fan dance interpretation of the movement of objects in space -- a love song from a ship to her captain.
This act was created for JoJo Stiletto's 2012 edition of Whedonesque Burlesque. Called "breathtaking" by Nerds in Babeland's Kiri Callahan, it can be performed in two versions: one with Firefly context, and one without. |
JoleneWith flaming locks of auburn hair, ivory skin, and eyes of emerald green, Sailor will take your man in this sultry chair dance set to a super-slow version of Dolly Parton's "Jolene."
Much like the titular Jolene herself, this act regularly makes viewers question their sexuality with its signature inverted stocking peel. This act has been performed at Aburlyque in Albequerque, NM and all around the Pacific Northwest! |
Fog City BluesInspired by the weather patterns in Sailor's San Francisco Bay Area hometown, the layers of fog drift away to reveal a hint of sunshine underneath in this sultry, slow-burning classic striptease with a high-energy finish.
This act has been featured at the Minneapolis Burlesque Festival and in Sinner Saint Burlesque's narrative burlesque production Forces of Nature. |
Lady LuckThis classic burlesque number is a tribute to Sin City of the 1950s and 1960s -- before Las Vegas became an amusement park. It is an homage to stiff drinks, long nights at the tables, the music of the Rat Pack, and, of course, leggy showgirls. Set to Bobby Caldwell's cover of "Luck Be a Lady" and clad in an epic costume by J. Von Stratton, Sailor embodies Lady Luck herself, and you'll most definitely want her by your side all night after this lively strip!
Meant for big stages, this act has been featured at the Great Burlesque Exposition and the Oregon Burlesque Festival. |
The Gin DrinkerAn ode to Sailor's preferred potent potable, this classic striptease set to "Harlem Nocturne" is a sexy slow-burn with the air of a 1920s bon vivant. Revel as Sailor prepares a beverage for herself and treats the audience to tension-filled stocking pulls and ends in a shower of gin.
Originally created for Jo Jo Stiletto's Miss Fishnet's Stripper Mysteries (a Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries tribute show), this act captures the spirit of the sexually empowered flapper and the thrilling intoxication of a glass of gin. |
Surrender SorrentoCapturing the playful sexuality and high melodrama of 1960s Italian cinema, Sailor moves fluidly from slow gown and glove teases to frenetic cape play and shimmies.
Clad in a palette inspired by the high fashion looks of Emilio Pucci and set a mix of Italian classic "Sorrento" and the Elvis Presely cover "Surrender," Sailor compels you to surrender to the spell of Italia. |
MarleneThis slow-burning, smoky suit strip pays homage to Marlene Dietrich in a palette of purples and blacks. Set to a moody jazz soundtrack by Japanese songwriter Yoko Kano, this number provides the atmosphere and attitude of a cosmopolitan nightclub in the 1930s, just as the smoke settles and the bar closes up for the evening.
Originally created for Scarlett O'Hairdye's Real Folk Blues, this act went on to earn Sailor the title of "Best Soloist" at the 2015 Great Burlesque Exposition. |
